From Kahalui International Airport to Kamaole Sands Resort

This part of your trip all depends on what your plan is while you’re on island. If you’ve decided that your time on island is going to involve some day trips and you’ll be driving, rental car companies can be located at the airport for your convenience. Major considerations are getting a vehicle that can hold all of your luggage and yourselves, gas mileage since you may be driving a lot, and your preference of a convertible. If you want to surf and need a rack, make sure it has one or buy a portable one.

What we would recommend is to book online as far in advance as you can and look for the rental deals. Nothing is consistent and rates appear to rotate through the rental car companies, so unfortunately there’s not one specific company we can refer you to. Another option that we’ve utilized is credit card rewards. Again this will vary based on your personal financial institution.

While there are many websites to search for rental cars, here is one for your convenience. If you wish to support local, consider this family run car rental service right in the heart of town, Kihei rent a car

*Note: Car rental rates tend to be a little higher if rented at the airport due to the obvious convenience and alternatives can be located in south Kihei a short distance away from the resort.

If you’re not planning on driving and the only stressors you want are what to eat/drink, which chair to sit in while lounging pool side or on the beach, Uber, taxi, or shuttle services available to get you to your final destination. In the past we’ve used, Robert’s Hawaii “airport shuttle service” to the Kamaole Sands Resort. On arrival, their friendly airport representative will meet you at baggage claim to assist. The transfer includes 2 pieces of standard luggage and one carry-on per person. The times that we have used them, we’ve been fortunate enough that only one other party was using the same service. You can check out the link here if this is more up your alley.
